Super Eagles coach,Stephen Keshi believes that Nigeria is making steady progress in rebuilding the national team, adding that the team will soon catch up with the rest of the world.
The Super Eagles on Wednesday lost 2-1 to Uruguay at the ongoing FIFA Confederations Cup,but there is an aura of satisfaction, despite the defeat owing to the impressive display by the team.
Nigeria had the opportunities to take the game away from Uruguay, but weren’t lethal enough to land the killer punch,as the South American country took all three points.
“We gave the game our all but you know Uruguay has been together for eight years and we are just rebuilding, sooner than later we will catch up with the rest of the best teams in the world,” Keshi said after the game.
However Super Eagles captain,Vincent Enyeama blamed fatigue for the team’s loss on Thursday, adding that they have to do something special to defeat Spain on Sunday.
“It’s so painful that we played this well and were still on the losing side. I would been a happier person if we played badly and won the game”.
